.

For all you belted-back junkies, here's your weekly fix.

From my own collection. (Not planning to sell it -- yet.) Late 1930s. A curious wool fabric: has the texture (and appearance) of sand, but with flecks of turquoise blue and rust orange.

Enjoy the view, junkies! ;)

Ahhhhh!

Thatsaniza beltedabacka! I have a similar back treatment on a 3pc. The material is similar as well. It has brown tan green blue red orange and yellow...but so fine it is barely noticable! I'll have to put some pics up....but under which topic??? Don't want to confuse people or mess up your thread. Very nice by the way... will you be going to the QM event?

Belted backs would be good in here though... nice suit Marc, don't ever sell it! You'd never find another one like that! I know, it's a tired record but, it's only one I've got. lol

Love to see any one else’s Belted backs!

By the way, that label it has is crazy! Orange and pink on black? That's pretty wild!

Another fine example of sartorial finery from Mr Chevalier

In 11 years of trawling the vintage clohting stores, antique shops and thrift outlets in Sydney, I've never seen a beltback suit. I don't know that they were a style that was ever introduced or worn in Australia. I believe that the chance of finding an original example of such clothing here is zero, sadly. Just the same, Marc, your 'fix' has inspired this junkie to not yet abandon the search.

An acquaintance of mine found this suit jacket in a hole-in-the-wall vintage clothing store somewhere in Montana.
Actually, he found two belted-back jackets hanging side-by-side in the same store; he kept one and gave me the other.

Vintage golden era belted-back suits are hard to find EVERYWHERE. :(

Interesting Jacket.

All the belted backs i find are from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming etc. Something weird about that part of the US; the guys had a particular yen for sporty belt backs.

Anyone see this beauty which sold on eBay the other day? (IIRC, a good size and sold for just $90 or so) I love the cinch belt back. The fabric was similar to the one Marc posted to start this thread …

Evisu, the Japanese denim company actually makes a line of suits, and one of them is a cinch back! I can't find pics online, but I've seen it in person. Very cool.
