I'll kick off with my classic 1920s 8 dart model, The Zephyr. A faithful reproduction of an original in my personal collection.

Available for the first time: 'The Victory'. 1920s-style darted cap with six box pleats, back band and leather appointments. Fashioned in vintage wool and 1920s silk lining.

Made up of 24 parts, THE ARCHER features a fancy pleated back that echoes the Norfolk jacket designs of the day, then all the rage with young fashionable men. Around front there is a box pleat on the crown, which brings the top down low in front in a pleasing way.

Strapping it is a belt with a vintage brass-plated buckle, buttoned on the sides with original 1930's 'For Gentlemen' buttons. The cap is snapped down with an extremely rare vintage brass snap. The long, squared-off brim is also an original feature of the vintage model, making it great as a driving cap or for other outdoors activities. The combination of low crown and long brim gives the profile of this cap an aerodynamic whoosh, like the car designs coming into fashion in the early 20th century.

The cap is built from an amazing 1940's crepe wool - black veins of thread are grounding highly reflective camel brown highlights, shot through with slubs of black, ecru and brick orange. The liner is composed of two complementary vintage silks, the rose color being from the 1950's (Japanese kimono silk) and stripes of luxurious 1920's jade-green silk to set it off.

Nicely put, Paddy, and I couldn't agree more. I had just been thinking of how much thought and, well, style went into the frame above for "The Archer." It's so nice to see such a concern for details. I wouldn't think twice about ordering a cap from this man.

Hands-down, the coolest cap for summer, in every way. My popular four-panel 1920's style Argonne cap is now available as an unlined handwoven straw cap!
This is the only bespoke vintage-style cap in the world, that I'm aware of, that is made entirely of straw (with the exception of the inner visor leather).

First, I should apologize for a poorly-worded posting. What I was wondering about is the future availability of your caps. The brown tweed one exactly matches a jacket I have, and I was wondering if it might be available in a month or so. If not, and as I also think it would look great with a 1950's brown leather jacket I have, I was wondering if you ever had someone send you a cloth jacket to be made into a cap.

Hi tropicalbob - yes, I can repurpose a jacket into a cap, no problem! As an alternative, if you are a 7 1/4" head size, I can put the Brighton cap I made that you saw on the Cap Faction aside for when you have the money to purchase (it is $250). I do have enough of that barleycorn tweed to make another with, so that's a third option! Thanks for asking.

Thank you! It's a little tricky to work with, but lovely material. Not vintage - handwoven Thai hemp straw, done by the Hmong hilltribes. It's some of the closest I've found to vintage straw examples.
