Maybe. I don't think much of the first reader comment - someone who seems to expect respect for scorning wearing second hand shoes yet freely admits to wearing tassled loafers.... by choice.

I see nothing wrong with tassled loafers. I don't have any, nor would they be my first choice, but they can work well, in my opinion.

Ha. We have the same pet peeves. Still better than double monk straps. The menswear bloggers rave about them but I think the are ugly as hell.

Real men don't wear shoes with tassles.

Wearing decent shoes will be a fad for most, unfortunately. The good news is that it will always be an underlying current in any well-to-do man's (or womans!) wardrobe regardless.

Not as bad as short trousers, but still..... They remind so much of the Eighties.

Leather shoes will be part of the fashion market to a degree for so long as we have "no trainers" nightclubs.... it'd be nice to see something other than slipons dominate that market, though.

Typical summer attire, along the US Southeast Coast. Khaki shorts, penny loafers without socks. Shirt may be a Lacoste, Polo or Brooks Brothers pull over…or a Madras button up. Wayfarers worn in the sunshine.

You know, there have always been feuds like "mods vs greasers". I think I have found my satorial nemesis. The unwashed masses in sweatpants just don't care about clothes so I can't even blame them. But these preppy guys actually think they dress good and write sh**ty menswear blogs about it. Haha

PS: Don't take me too serious. I wear a party hat.
