The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

It was our best research in the day. I believe that retail prices on the Stetson product at that time were very consistent across the country. Whether a Royal Stratoliner was the same price as a Royal Stetson I do not know.

My wife's thrift store Strat.

Thanks Bob!

Interesting, Bob. I don't know anything about the Bundschu family (pronounced Bunn shoe) but there is a road in Independence named after them.

Very nice Strat. Put some Miracle-Gro on it!

Thanks Jack. I sure wish it was my size. She ends up with all the cool hats.

This is from in front of the store. I wonder if her hat is in the crowd.

Ok, that is on the East side of the square. I see the letter "A" on the storefront. The crowd is standing in the street in front of the Courthouse. There is an old well in the courthouse lawn, capped off today. Back during the days of the 3 trails West, wagon trains would fill their water barrels from that well. There were more people killed in gunfights around that old well than anywhere in the county. Jim Crow Childs was responsible for ~12 of those deaths & finally met his own death on that corner. Off topic I know, but interesting.

VERY glad to see this post. Just bought the new Stetson stratoliner that they apparently resurrected! Nice to see Stetson returning to their roots, and making hats of the same style and quality as back in the day

same style ? ... maybe

same quality ?.... eh not so much

enjoy your new hat
Ok, there are a few differences. The felt isn't the same quality beaver felt, but it's the nicest I've seen in a new hat. Not quite on the level of a vintage stratoliner, but the closest thing I've found. I feel the design is almost identical, though it'll take a good long time to get it to have that "lived in" look only a 70+ year old hat can have

My pre OPS tag stratoliner has a side seam in the liner and my mid 50's is a back seam liner. After viewing numerous photos in FL, I've noticed the same arrangement. Wondering, is this just happenstance, or is there some consistency in other examples?
