Pace Setter. I hope it's heather and not wool.

This Stevens was made for the then Governor of West Virginia for a conference in 1969 (this is before this Governor was sent to prison for corruption etc.). The open crown is approximately 5 1/2 inches and the brim is 2 3/8 inches. It arrived as a scaled down Open Road with a cattleman’s crease. The brim is just too short to make that look work. I’ve been trying different shapes, but I just can’t get past such a short brim. Great hat with great felt and supple sweatband. The felt is an off-white ice blue.

I can see why…. Lots a character on that one.Reviving this Stevens thread with a well worn, battle scarred beat to heck Pace Setter. Not very pretty by standards set with most felts posted to FL but one of my favorites that I’ll not part with.

great looking hat Randy. An old Steven's fedora. Less than stellar condition but the felt is rather good; comparable to the Beaver Brand hats I have handled. The brown/grey felt color is nice.
Crown - 5 1/4 open
Brim - 2 1/4 bound
Ribbon - 2
The sweatband is stitched but, after a quick review of this and a few other threads, I have not seen this large liner logo so I'm unsure whether this is a very early model or just another one of many during the years of production.
