The self belted waist

One of those things they don't often get right nowaday. I think it's mainly the pleats that aren't right... the trousers aren't cut full enough to hang with a crease. Anywho. The self belted trousers. You don't need to ad anything other than the jacket and trousers. No belt. No suspenders. It's all in two, or three witht he vest. What think you?

I prefer to go without a belt, though it takes a good looking waistband.

I love this look myself, its a very British style, yes?

I have a pair of Ralph Lauren pants like this (in a dark navy of a silk/cotton blend), and they do suffer the same problems of not being cut full enough, but I do like them and they are very comfortable.

What do you call the trousers Sean Connery wore in the early James Bond movies? I'm thinking especially of "Dr. No"- didn't his trousers have adjustable sides?

If I recall most if not all of his pants had "dak tops" or button side adjustment tabs

I dig side sliders/tabs, especially the vintage ones with them IN the waistband. You usually see the modern variations below the waistband. The buttons look cool, too, but I don't know how efficient they are with only two or three waist variations available.

If you're referring to the DAKS waistband, I think that it's the most efficient of its ilk. The elastic feature is what sets it apart from the others though the elasticity can degrade over time. I find them more comfortable than the other types of side tabs as well. The DAKS waistband celebrated its 70th anniversary last year.

I would post a photo of mine but I now realise how lifeless it would appear.;)

I would have a little trouble with these I think - My little bit of paunch vectoring into that waistband would surely buckle it.
