On a point of order, I think that should be Sam The Evil Dead Raimi, b ut I'll let that pass as what he did with Spidey shows how well he can bring a comic book character to the screen.... And, perhaps more pertinently, what he did with the Darkman character bodes well for his ability to get the tone of The Shadow 'right.' I've been looking forward to this for a long time...

I didn't mind the 1994 Shadow film so much, but I would really like to see Sam Darkman Rami's take on it. More exciting for me would be a Doc Savage movie and according to the linked articles he has the rights to that as well.

I am not even going to talk about a "Golden age Pulp Heroes transported to the 21st Century" movie with a team-up of both characters. I'm not. Even if it were written by J. Michael The Twelve/Changeling Straczynski. I'm not even going to mention it. ;)

Another property done justice in the comics and ruined for
the big screen... The 70s Kaluta version should probably be
required reading on this forum- essence of Golden Age:

I bought two copies of #1 (and all the successive issues) as a young teen, and still have one in Near Mint condition (sold one on ebay). Great artwork.

It would be great to see Sam "The Gift" Raimi do The Shadow in his earlier, more hyperkinetic style, a la Darkman/Evil Dead. I'm sure Bruce "Bubba Ho-tep" Campbell will find a place in the movie.
