Just visited a wonderful music shop in Grand Rapids last night. They have an absolute ton of used and new vinyl. It's a more punk-rock oriented shop, but that just means all the "good stuff" is relegated to the $1 bins and you can get some real steals.
I didn't have much time, but did discover an album by the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. The back says:
I haven't listened to it yet, because the baby has been sleeping ever since I got home, but I'll let you know. Wikipedia says the band is still around and isn't in the least tongue-in-cheek, so here's hoping!

The Twenties...The Roaring Twenties! Carefree! Crazy! A decade filled with fun and boisterous party music. People lived for the moment. It was the good-time era. Skirts went short, cars went fast, and the music was everywhere...the ultimate symbol of the sensational spirit of the times.
The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, an English band formed by John Arthy in 1969, recaptures those hot and frantic, sweet and smooth days of the '20s and '30s. Music enthusiasts from students to royalty have danced and tapped their toes to this band's authentic musical re-creations. This album jumps with the euphoric sensation of a party in full swing. For anyone who has experienced Arthy's work, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra is more than just a recording of sound from the past. It is a refreshing revival of an extraordinary era.
Zap-Pa-Tap-Tap-Oooh!
