Now unless I need to go back and retake basic math, that's 1-2-3-4-5-count 'em-6 landings, each with a two-man crew. I've met Gene Cernan, Apollo 17 mission commander, and while he struck me as the kind who might decline to provide information if he deemed it necessary, my gut-check (which has never failed me) did not read him to be a likely liar.

There exist many websights full of the conspiracy theory crapola that just carries people away from all sense and logic. I've see robot heads pictured on the moon and cities on Mars and of course the "911 on purpose" stuff.

What is truly scary is these wackos are out in society amongst us functioning to some extent in a job that might affect one of us someday.

My personal conspiracy theory is that most of the fact checking jobs, like most jobs in general, are filled by 22 year old RCG's who don't even remember Ronald Reagan, let alone know who Dwight Eisenhower was. With the dumbing down of college educations, there's no telling what kind of ignoramuses are out there "fact checking". The big media are all run (operationally, not financially) by young people who are AFRAID to be in the presence of anyone more than 3 years older than them. This is because of our society's system of separating everybody by age as soon as they're born. Kids don't interact with anyone more than 3 years older or younger than them in their whole lives. This kind of idiocy is just one of the typical results of this.

From Earth to the Moon

If you haven't seen it, the HBO mini series 'From Earth to the Moon', directed by Tom Hanks, is an incredible story about the space race and the manned moon missions. He created this series shortly after starring in 'Apollo 13', just as he created 'Band of Brothers' shortly after filming 'Saving Private Ryan'. This is a great series that is incredibly well done.
