Maybe they were casing the bank?

“Don’t look, don’t ask!” ;)

I was across the border shooting news
video of flooding in the village.
Spotted soldiers rummaging through a
deserted house.
I saw them before they saw me.

I lowered my camera and head and kept
walking. I could feel their eyes on me.
(it’s an entirely different way of life, they
will shoot if provoked)

I learned this at a young age when confronted by a vicious dog.

You don’t look them in the eyes and
they will not attack.

Not 100% perfect.... but it has helped me in the past.

Sharp observation!

:(

First time I smoked a pipe was a corn cob from Kentucky.
Filled it with cheap sweet smelling “cherry blend”.
The fragrance might be ok from a distance....I don’t know.

But soon after I got the worse case of upset stomach in my life.
The dummy inhaled !

I think I've got his Pipe . It came from a charity auction in North or South Dakota . A Comoy that was filthy , but cleaned up great . Silver band . No Cherry for me either .

Really? How long ago was the auction? I thought it might be a tankard with the stem set high instead of it being upside-down. Is the silver band hallmarked?

I thought the Buffalo Soldier's pipe might have a military mount.

I think I bought it around 2009-10 . Its a Comoy's "The Oxford" Hallmark 925 , but I can't make out the cartouche emblems . The auction was for an orphanage . The stem has oxidized again , its a Poker .

Personally I designated a Pipe to Latakia , another to Virginias , and if for some reason I wanted aromatic one for that . But if you don't care it doesn't really matter . Only the Latakia , and especially the Aromatic bleed through when smoking Virginias . Personal choice . Back to regularly scheduled Non-Shorpy Web All Stars .
