In high school, I knew about 5 different people who were in bands or were musicians. Now, I only have 3. When you have a band member as a friend, it means seeing their shows, watching them play, requesting songs, and just plain hang out. I used to tread a place called "The Cobalt Cafe" in Sherman Oaks, where many high school rock bands play. I've seen at least two shows of a band a friend of mine was in.
I can't say that the music would be of interest amongst those here (perhaps some).
Here's a friend whom I haven't spoken with for some time, but he was a good one. Some friendships don't last, but his music sure does. http://www.myspace.com/standardprofile
Another friend has been the guitarist for many bands. I can't show his page because I don't think he has one, but his musical interests range from 60's rock to 90's heavy metal. He's always tried to find his place in music and has now gone into more modern soil. He's still with me and whenever he returns, it's as if he never left. Great friend and even better musician. I enjoy watching him strum that guitar.
Another friend who is the bassist for a local band and a talented classical guitarist as well, (you can see I've known a lot of guitarists) has played for many audiences along with his troupe, and I've had the pleasure of seeing them live at a few largely crowded gatherings. http://www.myspace.com/excessiveacts They also put on a fantastic art show.
So being a musician's friend can be fun and exciting, but which musician's are yours?
