Does anyone know what happened to the gray glen plaid suit that Cary Grant wore in North by Northwest?
I know that they made several copies for the shoot, as is practice in Hollywood.
In any case there has always been a lot of talk about this suit, but I don't recall ever reading if someone knew what became of them.
From what I know Cary Grant had it in his contract that he could keep his wardrobe at the end of a project.
So, I would assume that the surviving pieces ended up in his closet. Which would mean that one or several copies may have been part of his estate when he passed away.
According to this article his estate was split up among his daughter, widow and a few other people.

So, if the suit still exists it should be in the hands of one of these people.
Anyone?
