Mallory Streamliner

Got this beautiful Mallory Streamliner Ten yesterday. Minty and unworn. Still has the model name sticker on the sweatband. Ad for the Streamliner is from 1948.

The paper tag ("The Streamliner") answers a question I posed a while back about the countless hat style/model names seen in those great scans some of you have posted; the model names rarely appear embossed on the sweat. Perhaps makers other than Mallory identified their models with similar tags. That would explain why so few remain.

Mallory Nokabout, ca.1946

Mid-Late 1940s Mallory Nokabout. Post '46 Stetson takeover but retaining the old Mallory cloth size tag in 7-5/8. Likely produced immediately after the Stetson appropriation, utilizing remaining stocks of the Mallory cloth tags. Mellow, lightweight felt, with moderate, versatile proportions.

Crown: 4-3/4", as creased.
Ribbon: 13/16".
Brim: 2-1/2", with 1/8" binding.
Sweatband: 1-7/8".

Detail of cloth reinforced non-reeded sweatband.
