The more I read and search around these forums, the more I like being here. Discussions are polite, informative and often funny.
One of the biggest advantages for being a member (aside from great discounts from top-of-the-line vendors) is the knowlege base of the regulars, and your willingness to share what you know.
You've kept me from making some very bad decisions (particularly steering me away from most new fedoras) and have led me to some great places. There are a lot of humble, helpful hatters and sellers out there -- Art, Aaron and Fedora come to mind -- that I wouldn't have known about without this forum.
And there are lots and lots of places I would've gone first, spending significantly more money for significantly less product. The members here have called things as they've seen 'em (usually with admirable restraint), and showed what high-priced emperors have no hats. As I've been laid off and am freelancing these days, money is certainly a key consideration for my newly rediscovered love for golden-era-look fedoras.
Guess I'm rambling, but I wanted to thank all of the members who've provided such valuable information. Keep it comin', and I'll keep learnin'!
Thanks,
Simon
