[Story]

VILNIUS, Lithuania – Croatian-born actor Rade Serbedzija (Before the Rain) is putting together a new project with his filmmaker son Danilo Serbedzija (72 Days) – a film adaptation of Slovenia-based Serbian theater director and playwright Dusan Jovanovic’s play The Liberation of Skopje.

The play is set in WWII-era Skopje, now the capital of Macedonia, when it was occupied by German and Bulgarian troops. The action is seen through the eyes of an 8-year-old boy and involves a love affair between a Macedonian woman and a German officer.
