So, becoming somewhat generous of proportion lately, I started to to do some Yoga and cut out fast food, that had the side effect of allowing me to fit into some of my outgrown clothes. Most notable of these are this classic suit with an incredible waistcoat.

It was tailored in Italy for Neiman Marcus. I picked it up at the outlet about 10 years ago. It is made of a very fine and soft warm brown tiny houndstooth pattern. It has a very low gorge and incredible lining with the cloth accents around the inside pocket openings. My favorite thing is the lapels on the waistcoat, and this is the type of waistcoat that could be worn with other clothes.

The sleeves are a bit short on me, which should make Wild Root happy. ;)

So, what do you all think???

Another winner!

I'd like to see that fabric closer - looks like it may have some texture?

Yoga and no fast food huh? Well, this cereal twice a day thing isn't doing anything at all for me... maybe yoga then...

Looks like a great suit indeed - and it works with the J. Crew saddles.

Nice! I like that waistcoat as well, very snazzy. :cheers1:

Those are the J. Crew suedes?
Thank you, Zach! Yes, you have a good eye. They are indeed the J.Crew suedes. I probably wouldn't wear them with this suit; I just happened to have them on. I would probably go with the Spectators, but they're not too bad. :)

It's a bit "tweedy," if you will. It nice. It doesn't have the sheen of a wool and cashmere mix.

Well, I only want to loose about 5 lbs. That shouldn't be too difficult, God Willing!
Thanks for your comments, Scott!

That's another great-looking suit. It seems to drape nicer than the mycustomtailor.com suit - is that just the photos, is it the cut, or is it the material; maybe it's just me skwinky eyes. The waistocat is very cool, and fits you perfectly, whereas the waistcoat in the other thread seems to bunch just a little. Again, it may just be something about the photograph, the lighting or maybe your posture due to cold or wind... I dunno.

Anyway, another very good-looking suit. How many suits do you have, anyway? And how big's your armoire, for crying out loud? ;)

PS I've also become generous of proportion lately - though that's not the phrase we use in our house... billowy or floaty is more common. I've been having knee problems so I can't run or jump rope and seeing my clothes go off to Goodwill or my skinnier brother was getting me down. I hadn't thought of yoga though. You've inspired me, sir... this choo-choo's heading for better times.

Good day Mr. Jones.... well done my friend!

I must say, for a contemporary suit, it's pretty classic looking. The color is great and the cut isn't bad at all. You carry it well and it "suits" you very well;)

Now, to get that seasoned vintage look down pat... tilt your lid to one side! You'll look like an ace or the man with all the answers!;)

=WR=

PS. It's so nice to see a vest that covers the waistband of the trousers!!! A true sign of a proper fit!

Could be. I bought this at an outlet in Philadelphia about 10 years ago and took it to a master tailor who remade it to my body, so that would account for its fit. He dropped the ball on the sleeves though.

I think the waistcoat on the other suit is fine. Its cut is boxier. Still, this one is fun with those dramatic lapels.

:) Thanks. I don't have that many suits compared to some folks around here. I probably have around 15 or so. Remember, I am a commercial lender, so I wear them everyday. I don't want to repeat myself too much. I do have one of those closet organizers. ;)

Happy to help! My story is similar. I had years of martial arts, rock and ice climbing and it has taken a toll on my knees. Now, they throb all day. Yoga is helping with the weight and with the knees!

Thank you, sir. I was hoping you would pop in. I thought you would like the sleeves, knowing my tendency to wear my sleeves too long. ;)

I am a little uptight in how I wear my hats. I wear them like a G-Man.

took out all that hat hat hat stuff and now we can talk about the real deal. Your suit!

Looks beautiful... that vest, jacket and trousers look very cool. Congrats.

I'd taper the waist off the vest in a bit of have a little belt added to you can adjust... Will this one be in New York?

Thanks for the pruning, Matt. It is sincerely appreciated. :)
Funny you should comment about the belt on the waistcoat; when I put on so much wait I stretched it to capacity and ended up cutting it off!
Normally, I would consider that antithetical, but I loved the suit so much and it was the only way I could wear it. I only wish I had saved the piece!
I think I will bring it to NYC, along with the double-breasted blue blazer, Hollywood Jacket, and the mycustomtailor suit.

Outstanding, Old Man!

Another hit, to be sure. Actually, I don't think the suedes look bad at all with that suit. Your Spectators would look much more formal, and with the waistcoat that is probably what you would like, but the suedes give you a casual air. It makes me thing of what men wore on the weekend when a suit was an everyday thing, not just for weddings and funerals. In the suedes, I would expect to see you in the Commons on a Saturday afternoon with your gal, and in your office making multi-million dollar deals in your Spectators.

By the way, Daisy, you look positively smashing, as always. Love the shot on the rail!

Thanks Jack!
I actually had the Saddle shoes on from wearing the blazer. My Spectators are kept in their box with cedar shoe trees and I didn't want to go inside to dig them out.

I'll pass your comments along to Ms. Buchanan.
