I know we have a number of Howard Hughes buffs amongst us here, so who's seen this new take on the Clifford Irving-Hughes "autobiography" affair? Irving himself has condemned the film rather vocally for overembellishing and falsifying the reality of what happened (oh the irony), but even knowing that going in, I enjoyed it very much -- Richard Gere may not be everyone's cuppa, but I thought he was a perfect choice to play a charming/smarmy con artist like Irving, and Alfred Molina was ideal as his sweaty, conscience-stricken sidekick.

Anyone else seen it?

Hubby has seen it in Iraq and wishes me to pass along his opinion. He thinks: It is filmed like a documentary and looks as if it were actually filmed in the 70s. (He is 28 years old and hadn't heard of the actual hoax.) The story is good and the actors are very good. Everyone here would like it.
People who have seen it: agree? I'm going to see it anyway.
