Ok, just got this off ebay. Here are some preliminary photos. The Sovereign Stetson Twenty, with the Mode Edge. I was told it was "willow green". I would call it a moss green, and it is easily the most magnificent hat I have ever seen.

Serious crown height! That's a beauty - congrats!

It is a big, beautiful, tall, full size hat. Brim is 3". Ribbon is 1 3/4". Crown is about 4 7/8" at the front, 4" at the rear. The open crown height is right near 6".

New Christys Adventurer, Elm green (crossposted from New Hats thread):

This green Christys Adventurer arrived Wednesday - not stock, the ribbon is dark brown and I had them (Hornet Hats, London - wonderful company by the way) trim the brim to 2.75" front/back. It's normally 3" f/b, 2.5" on the sides. Crown is 5.75"

Color is Elm, which is a dark green, darker than my Bluegrass Green Campdraft. These photos were taken with my phone, and green is hard to capture, but I think they come close to the actual shade.

Arrived open crown:

Felt is very easy to work with - this is after a quick dry bash right out of the box:

I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. From order to receipt took about 5 weeks, $120.00 shipped to the US with customizations done at no extra cost. I swore this would be my last hat, but they have sooooooo many colors that you won't run across in vintage....

Great looking hat.

i considered the elm color for a while but settled on sable since that seemed more versatile.

how is the stitching on the bow and ribbon?

how is the stitching on the bow and ribbon?

I'd seen those complaints about Christys' ribbons in another thread, so I was a bit anxious. The ribbon is attached with 4 stitches at 2,4,8, and 11 o'clock - each stitch in the center of the ribbon. These stitches are larger than on similar modern hats, but not extremely so. On the bow, each corner is stitched to the crown, and the center of the bow is attached at four points also. If the hat/ribbon/bow were of a lighter shade this might be more noticeable, but on the dark brown ribbon I selected it's not as apparent. If you go to Hornet Hats' website and click on the Adventurer hat, you can see the ribbon treatment pretty clearly.

I noticed the ribbon treatment is different on the Fedora model and not as "busy" with the stitching - I might try one of those for my next lid.

Hey Salty, maybe you could post some more pictures of it on a sunny day? It sounds like a wonderful green.

My acquisition from Worth & Worth in NYC, way back in summer. It's way greener in person. A more lively shade. It's their Primavera model, an extremely light weight felt.

I just picked this up from Bill this past weekend. I am in love with this hat. Not only are the dimensions just perfect for me, but I just cant stop petting it...lol. These are Bill's pictures because I havent taken my own yet. Besides the quality of these pics are far superior than my own camera could take. I will post some head shots soon. I hope you dont mind me using your pics, Bill. THANKS AGAIN!! :)

No problem using my pics. They still don't give a true portrayal of that felt color. Its one you really have to see in person.

Thanks again, Bill!! Your absolutely right, the color has so much more depth than the pictures show. And the nap is so fine, its amazing.
