The Grapes of Wrath Deputy Hat...

While watching the The Grapes...the other day for about the hundredth time, I became very interested in the hats worn in the scenes showing the Deputy Sheriffs in California. The hats were a Silverbelly (I think, BW movie can't really tell) with what appeared to be a 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 inch brim. Very narrow Cowboy type knotted hat band of the same color as the hat. Teardrop crown. Very nice hat indeed. A modern equivalent would probably be the Stetson Dune in Silverbelly. The latest quest is on...
