Brent Black has a panama hat styled after The Great Gatsby. It has a curious ridge in the centre of the crown. Is this authenticly modelled on the one Robert Redford wore in the movie or is it his own interpretation of the style. It looks really cool. :cool2:

I had hime block mine that way. It's like a optimo crease on a telescoped crown.
I think the style is "inspired by" but not guaranteed authentic.

You can do this yourself with some steam and a credit card. Just put the edge of the card inside the hat and pinch it from the top against the edge of the card.

I added that ridge as a flourish on my cheap Cuenca when experimenting-
a very fast and stylish addition.
Nice to see it done elsewhere.

Art Fawcett just blocked this Montecristi I got from Panamabob. He used 2 different blocks to get the Aficionado. It came out great.

The Gatsby he has that block plus a few hundred others. Send him a picture and he can block it.
