The Curse of Indiana Jones

Had a Northern California Western hat customer of mine who needed an Indiana Jones Hat for a costume event he was attending email me with his request. He spent a fair amount of time acquiring all the various parts of the costume, from jacket all the way down to the boots. I was honored that he trusted me to create the "correct" hat for him (I think they used four different makers/versions for the movies!)

I used various shots from all the movies and we came up with the finished version you see here. I don't create a lot of fedoras, but this one was a really fun project to work on. He reported back that he won the contest, hands down.

Great looking hat, Mike. What do you charge for something like this? The wheels are turning. :)

Raiders of the Lost Ark re-ran on TV recently, set in the era, I love some of the iconic fashions of the day. Tina and I both love the suits worn at the end of the film by Indiana Jones and Marion Ravensworth. I suggested that she could make a similar lady's suit:

"What, and have everyone compliment me on my 'Indy' suit," she replied. "The Curse of Indiana Jones," I said. "Sorry, I'm not with you," she answered. I told her of this thread and the reaction to those who wear a fedora hat. She smiled and said that could empathise with that, then she surprised me. Showing me one of her sewing patterns she said that it was in the pipeline along with a lot of other things. I knew when to shut up, she's making me a camouflage shirt and a pair of olive trousers. But I can share that pipeline project.

The Curse of Indiana Jones compels me to tell you that her name was Marion Ravenwood. :p:)

I'd love to see the suit on her when it's finished.

Before posting anything, I always proof read my entry. There's always a spelling mistake, a grammatical error, punctuation missing and most annoyingly, auto corrected by an illiterate computer.
So when I asked Tina, "what was Marion wotsit's name in tthe Raiders film," she replied, "Ravensworth." I'm not going to tell her.

Many's a marital relationship has functioned all the more smoothly, I'm sure, for the knowledge of when to correct and when to keep schtum. I've largely given up trying to explain that there is a difference between Star Wars and Star Trek.... ;)

You are not wrong, Edward. Many an argument has rocked the matrimonial boat over some pedantic point.
And some take pedantic to a whole new level. Did you know that in the final chase scene, Ronald Lacey, (Major Toht,) was absent for some reason? Was he replaced with a double? Nope, all you can actually see, if you look very closely, is his hat. And they got away with it, almost.
