The coat I wish I could afford

I'm always looking for a coat unlike the run-of-the-mill overcoats you find in stores. I want something long and billowy, with a slim fitting cut.

Then I was introduced to the cult film "Withnail and I" starring Richard E Grant. Aside from being incredibly funny, I was immediately struck by the fabulous coat he wore throughout. Most folks of my generation would lust after a Tennant 'Dr Who' coat, and I did too for a while, but now I want this one!

I *could* order a replica from the designer who originally created the coat, providing I am happy to fork out $859 pounds. Sigh, maybe in a few years...

Not really my thing these days(a bit too flamboyant and obvious) although I adored the film when it came out. Just to show you how times have changed - you used to be able to get these tweed overcoats in Melbourne op shops when I was a kid about 30 years ago. When I was more flamboyant, I bought one once for $5 in Camberwell. They were not ever common, but you would find one in a couple of weeks if you were serious.

I've always liked the style of this jacket, but hated the material, it'd be perfect for me if it was in a single solid colour and maybe a few inches shorter, but I love the cut.
