A bowler recovered from the Titanic is on display at Cosi in Columbus, OH.
Watch the main video and the "Exclusive Titanic "B-Roll" Film Clip #2".

Fascinating. Thanks for sharing. I went to the exhibit when it showed at the Detroit Science Center a few years ago. A pity the other Cosi in Toledo closed. Could make it there in an hour. Bankruptcy, right?

Karl Halfmann Melone

Karl Halfmann Melone, 1930s or older. It has some ribbon and binding damage but very high quality. Also unique golden liner.

Dieter, Thanks! :) By the way I received the mystery Bowler today. It has similar felt (wool content?) as my Lembert Rieser and is in good condition. Has a hand stitched non-reeded sweat and no liner. I will post photos tomorrow.

Mystery Bowler (Melone)

This Bowler (Melone) doesn't have any company mark but probably of German orgin. The felt might have some wool content and is on the softer side which makes it very wearable. The sweatband is made of 3 parts which I have never seen before and is hand stitched. Based on the construction I would say 1920s or older.

Negretti Adonis Bowler (Melone)

Negretti Adonis Bowler (Melone). I am thinking 20s could be older. It has an Italian name but made in Germany or Austria. Measures around 59cm but looks like it was stretched. Very nice quality.

Hm, you did find quite a few Bowlers recently. Is there a certain tendency? :)

No just saw some that might fit and looked interesting. Also didn't bid much $ but still won.

Yes it has a cord but I am not sure if it was detachable. I assume there was a button or something similar attached to it.
