So I traded for this Scott. Just snapped a pic to see the difference in the fit.

Ludwig Skrivanek Graz, Hutfabrikation, no paper label, measures 58 cm, Wool or Wool - Fur, possibly early to 1930s. I had no idea from the photos that the felt was a melange of colors. Also that it had an intact wind cord. I do not have any information on the production capabilities of Ludwig Skrivanek Graz Hutfabrikation. Anton and Josef Pichler were the famous Graz Hat companies but I was very happy to find this less known company. I have to say this Stiff Felt is already one of my favorites.
Typical Loop Wind Cord
Mark, Thanks again. I can only hope so.Can I like this one twice???? Really good find!!!! You really stay on that roll!!!!!!
Jeff, Thank you! I have to agree.Wow! Really like that one!

Good trade: Scots was an excellent maker, but I don't think they made it past the late sixties.I had this Knox Derby that was too tight.

Quite right, Stefan. Lock & Co bought the company at the end of the 60s.Good trade: Scots was an excellent maker, but I don't think they made it past the late sixties.
Steve, one beautiful mid war Bowler, both inside and out.Josef Brunner Wien, Wool, measures 57 cm, seller listed as 1930s but could be later 1920s. There isn't a paper label and I have no production information for Josef Brunner Wien but he is listed in the 1926 Austrian Hat Industry Guide booklet. The liner is especially fantastic. Also great overall form.

Stefan, Thanks! Yes a spectacular liner. The liner is indeed spectacular. Fabulous!
C. Messmer Wien, 59 cm possibly late 1940s. The felt on this hat is fantastic. Also the contrasting black liner and white sweatband in striking. It appears to be have been made by Hutproduktiv Wien (see below). I couldn't find anything on C. Messmer Wien production capabilities.
Based on the paper label the hat was made by Hutproduktiv Wien. The label is in French because Hutproduktiv Wien was located in District XIV which was under French control after WWII.. Here is another example.

Super, super find, Steve. I can just imagine how good it looks on your head. For me, it has a pre-war look, style, and feel to it. Either way, great catch.Yes, a very interesting color combo...but also very "antique" looking to me. It looks like a fantastic hat.
