No kidding! I was an old school Mopar man for a long time.

Good lord no but I'd hazard a guess and say....a lot! lol I did read somewhere that the film holds the record for having the largest amount of wrecked cars.

It holds the record for the most expensive car chase scene ever. The mall used in the movie is still around, although it is a "dead mall". A year or so ago, some guys got permission to re-create the mall scene. You can find it on Youtube. The mall was already closed when "Blues Brothers" was filmed there. The producers had to re-stock the whole mall to make it look active.

I found this on a trivia site:

"Blues Brothers" holds the world record for most car crashes in a movie. This are 13 Blues Mobiles, and anywhere from 50-60 other cars.

this is one of those movies that is great to put on in the background though, or when you're driving if you have a dvd player in your car, because without the visual it causes you to really focus on the one-liners. I found it much funnier. a personal favorite of mine though is Carrie Fishers role and then the scene with the penguin. It was also fun to see a more recent performance of cab calloway's.

I'm glad I was in college at the time it came out. To watch it in a theater with a bunch of other rowdy students seeing for the first time was an experience I'll never forget. It was a fun time then as other (sort of) cult films came out, too: Caddyshack, Animal House, Breakfast Club... Are there any films out today that can give students the same experience? I don't think so.

That's my all time favourite movie. I even used to have a 1974 Dodge Monaco cop car (two interior dome lights and radio mounts inside); it ended up in about the same shape as the Bluesmobile did.

When I was a child I would watch the movie over and over again. My Mom had a cassette with the soundtrack and I used to hear it a lot, too.

My boyfriend was a teenager when it came out and not too long ago we realised we both loved Blues Brothers back than when it came out (or better me when it came in TV and we recorded it since I was just a thought of the universe when it was in cinema). So I guess I got to get it on DVD for us
