My choices:

ScottF's Schoble, though he's certainly made other great purchases this year.

JtL's Playboy, though the Knox and Dobbs 100 are also fantastic.

There are others, and I'm sure that Garrett owns many of them.

In terms of straw hats and the whole story of: found in the UK (almost ended up in Germany :D ) made it´s way to the USA, than to Chicago and back HPG. Great, the way it durned out one of the greatest discoveries! AAA+++

Without a doubt, HPG's panama is a standout for 2009 -- an amazing lid and an amazing story. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

There has been a real parade of fabulous lids this year. In terms of unique finds, I was lucky enough to come up with a few. Of hats that found their way to my home, Lefty has nailed it -- the Playboy, the Knox Premier and the Dobbs 100 would be my top three. Here are the Knox and the Dobbs:

I was not sure, it the Superior was a 2009 aquisition of yours. It is definitely one of the non plus ultras!

Cavanagh Derby

Early Cavanagh Derby of around 1929

When I bought the hat, I was a philistine about Cavanagh hats. Thanks to the profound contributions of Brad Bowers this state of ignorance changet over time to the better. Here is to one of the rare hat historians of our time! :cheers1:

Thank you, Brad!

Too many great submissions in this thread! :eusa_clap

You have got one of the coolest personal trademark creases I've seen in self styled fedoras.

I had forgotten that this was an '09 acquisition. I think that this is one of the nicest satin finish lids that I've ever laid eyes on. Incredibly elegant.

Cheers,
JtL
