OK, ladies, I could really use your help. I often see great vintage dressers talking about how they found this item in thrift stores or that item on ebay, etc. to use for their great outfits. I love the mid to late 1940's outfits, but I simply can't figure out how to recreated them. I look at the photos, I look at the vintage patterns for sewing, and I think I have a good idea of the look. Then I go search on ebay and such and nothing I look at seems to fit the style. Is it that I just can't envision it correctly? Especially blouses. I love the little puffed gather to the cap end of the sleeve, the use of shoulder pads, the cuff at the wrist, the lovely collar and yoke styles... I know I'm seeing that stuff on ebay, but it just doesn't go with it in my head.

Sewing- I can sew. I don't want to. That would involve digging the machine out of storage, finding an area of carpet large enough to cut fabric, blah blah blah. I frankly don't want to bother with it. And I'm looking on Ebay and thrift stores because I'm broke, LOL. help! Educate me on style, pretty please? My retro hair and makeup is starting to look silly with the jeans and plain shirts I wear to work.
