Tatton Baird Hatters

Chandler seems like good people. I don't know him personally but have chatted with him a little bit. He worked for JW at JW Hats for a couple of years about a dozen years ago. Tatton was the name of the first hatter in Utah, John Charles Tatton. I believe Baird is Chandler's middle name if I recall correctly.

Nobody has purchased from Tatton Baird on FL? I'm interested in getting one from him, he seems like the real deal, been doing hats for 17 years. He just released a really cool video of him fishing out an old hat that fell in the lake and remaking it into a new hat. I wrote him to get the discussion going but he must be super busy I haven't heard from him since

I’ve enjoyed his videos, and it looks like he’s the real deal (trained by JW). I do wish his site had pricing. Anyone know what his hats run?

I found a video on youtube and asked the person, he said it was 450$ when he bought (he posted online 1 year ago) it 100% beaver felt, and this was very recent.
So I'm guessing it runs 400-600$ in that range depending on level of customization?

Sounds fair. I’ve just gotten spoiled by VS, Phoenix, Gannon, et al.

I drove past his town in Utah last month
. Thought about dropping in but decided I did not need another hatter. I sent him an email back when he first opened but received no reply so that factored in as well.

Ya he hasn't responded to my 2 last emails either so. I'm sure he is a great guy and busy but if I don't get a response before I start I'm not going to do business because if I have questions or need answers I won't be getting them.

I've talked to hornskov in Copenhagen and he's been quite responsive. His reviews online are all excellent.

ya I spoke to him already.

The other hatters look cool and charge a very reasonable price (Gannon) but I feel if you want something non basic with cool accessories, bandanas and feathers it won't be with the more old school hatters. I could always just buy those things separately and stick them on though

Not my experience with the custom hatters here in the Lounge. They all have gone above and beyond to deliver a custom hat to MY exacting specs. I encourage you to open a conversation with one of them. You will receive a great hat and save yourself enough $$$ to afford two!!!

oh good to know!
+ if those hatters are in the States, and it's made in the USA I shouldn't have any customs and duties to pay or at least duties because of the free trade so that's a +1
