Hiya Ladies,

I'm not sure who knows about Taste of Home cooking magazine, but I thought I would post the link for those of you who weren't aware of it.
Taste of Home is a cooking magazine published 6 times a year. It's filled with recipes "like mom used to make". You know, those old homestyle meals that might just transport you to an era when food was more for eating, and less of a decorative plate. You won't find these recipes in the posh restaurants in the city, but maybe at the local diner. They are filled with comfort foods.
I've gotten two issues of this magazine, and I really enjoy it. It has a
vintage-y feel to it, and the recipes are quite easy and good.
So, check it out if you'd like. I know a lot of you have original cookbooks and recipes passed down from your families. But, these recipe's might just add to that collection, and maybe put a spin on some of the recipe's that you're already making.

I've seen it once or twice, but never been in the position to grab one. :eusa_doh:
But fortunately for me I found and grabbed a copy of Better Homes and Gardens cookbook from the 40's, it's on regular shift in my kitchen, I got the greatest Eggs Benedict recipe out of that book!:)

It looks cute! I just finished baking some cupcakes in the kitchen (with homemade frosting), and though the cupcakes were out of a box, I felt quite proud of my frosting accomplishments!

I'm quite a klutz in the kitchen, but I think I could accomplish making some comfort foods. Unfortunately, no one in my family is a master chef, so maybe this magazine can teach me a thing or two!

I LOVE "Taste of Home". I have been a subscriber for @ 13 years. There recipes are very "stick to your ribs/no nonsense" that don't require fancy spices or things that you would never normally have in your pantry. I use the magazine receipes almost exclusively for all my cooking (except of course, for my vintage Betty Crocker and Better Homes and Garden's cookbooks :) )

I also like their other magazine, it used to be called "Quick Cooking" but they changed the name, and I'm drawing a mental blank on the new one...

They also have a nostalgic magazine called "Reminisce", which I have never read, but looks interesting.

I just subscribed to it. Looking forward to seeing it.

You're going to love it; the pictures and stories are simply wonderful :)

I need to try some of the recipes in Taste of Home; like Retromom I usually stick to my vintage cookbooks, but some of the ideas I have seen in the magazine have looked quite delicious.
