Do you know the Twilight Zone with the Talky Tina doll? The that says "My name is Talky Tina and I'm going to kill you."

She grew up and works at Bank of America as the voice mail lady. It took me about 40 minutes to ditch her. No matter what option I choose, even zero, she just started her thing over and over. I cursed her out and that seemed to make her happy because once I finally got connected the real person said I was transferred to the wrong department.

I just wanted general customer service.

Finally, after listening to 25,000 different phone options I was prompted to dial the pound key to speak with a "representative" (I noticed they didn't say "person." That's so passe.) and got through. Saying "agent" sometimes works, but not at BOA. I was with MBNA before they got bought by BOA and loved them.

So, be warned, Talky Tina and her friends are standing by to take your calls at BOA and beyond.

It gives new meaning to voice mail Hell. Well, at least they didn't transfer you out of the country like Dell does. :eusa_doh: :rage:

There are websites that list how to get to a real, live person at major corporations' automated systems. One of them shows:

"Bank of America 800 900 9000 At ANY Bank of America number, press 00 to get human. "

There's another website, can't think of the name of it right now, that lists the same sort of info...if I dig it up I'll post it. HUGE lists of major corporations and how to bypass their systems to get real people.
