Regarding the demise of the Synergy parka company in Oakland CA.
"Synergy was a small custom mountaineering company started by climber, Daniel Sherman.
In the late 1970's the company did a "nosedive". What happened?
The story goes that the fashion powerhouse, Calvin Klein saw someone wearing one of Sherman's parkas on a New York street. Klein fell in love with it and contacted Sherman to make a similar line for the Klein menswear..
The "Fashion boys" decided that the outdoor look was Hot".
