Here are some cd/record labels that do a more than adequate job of producing "golden age" music.
Hindsight Records . Hindsight merged in '05 and while there isn't a specific website, you can find their releases on many online record vendors as well as on ebay. One strong point in Hindsight's favor is that it was their policy of ensuring that a fair percentage of profits went to the artist's estates. There are lots of Hindsight vinyl LP's kicking around.
Jazz Oracle : Jazz Oracle was founded some years ago by a group of record collectors and hot jazz musicians. Their lead remastering guru, John R.T. Davies did remarkable work on these old recordings. They aren't cheap, but you will get full value for your money here. I see that they also sell releases from two other labels, Frog and Timeless .
Roots and Rockabilly fans probably already know about Bear Family records; their catalog is usually of the highest order, and I have always found that their liner notes were highly detailed and exhaustively researched.
I saved my favorite for last: The Chronological Classics label from France. If you run across any of these in your travels, BUY them. Many are collectable, most are hard to find, rare or have been hunted to extinction. Here's hoping that they will be reissuing. Keep your fingers crossed, mes amis.
