Swap Meet Score!

I rescued this vintage beauty from a swap meet this week for $35. It was so dry and crispy you could prop up a building. I started rejuvenating it yesterday and it's well on it's way to having life again.

Can anyone tell me the age and possible maker of this jacket? My guess is late 40s early 50s.

Based on zip and previous posts by TM- my guess is 40s. I had a police jacket with the same zip stop. That’s all I got lol. Very nice find. There is a thread about dating Talon zips somewhere here. It may help.

The "gathered" sides are typical in this era as is the lining. The gathered sides probably comes from military use.

No doubt to me it is horsehide.

No idea the maker. Fairly simple jacket. Makers sold jackets with whatever label the contractor wanted.

This zipper stop with Talon down the middle is mid to late 40s. Does not go into the 50s

These stops often have different pulls with a subtle difference. This pull looks to be later 40s. Note the rounding at the tip. The early jackets with this pull will have a "square" end.
