Yes the pics are way too small to check it out. As for the Talon zipper, it might not be original to the trouser, as most mens trousers are typically made with a metal zipper.
You can check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuppenheimer for the company history, that might help a bit. If it could be opened up, one can get a better idea of its age. As different periods used different internal products and processes.

Just avoid html. I don't understand the issue FLounge has with allowing html, but when i started a thread asking for html to be allowed, it turned out there apparently is an issue. ho hum.

Suit is from early/middle 1980s; zipper is original to it.
