Suit pattern, help!

Hello all! I am new and am in need of a bit of help. I found this jacket, looks vintage to a point and fits real well. What I need from those interested is ideas to turn this jacket into a working pattern. I would like to center the timeline, say-38'-43'. I am thinking off the top that is is a bit short, no button holes on the lapels, and a few other things to emulate a vintage look. Any ideas that would help flesh this out and look the part would be great, as a side note for those interested I am willing to offer patterns of this jacket to those that help me for just the cost of the tracing paper. PLEASE HELP!
Also If I am off topic or need to change venue please let me know.:)

Pants pattern almost done!

Thanks for the help, but if you don't mind I could use a second opinon. please check out the pics, sorry a bit grainy, and let me know how close I am to the fit and genaral look of late 30's pants. Please don't mind the horid color and the fact that the material is cotton and has no drape. Any and all comments will be helpfull.
