I know this would benefit everyone, but it would also increase competition...but I wondered if everyone would be kosher with posting just the brand names (or tag names, or tailor names) of the vintage suits they own? To help in finding "really" vintage, rather than, as some eBay sellers think, anything made before 1990. I would gladly start, but thought I'd throw this bone out first and see if there were any takers, or if they'd want to hold that information close to the waistcoat.
On a related note, there is a nice vintage suit at the local thrift store (not sure of the age, probably '50s, or early '60s, as it has thin lapels, but it has sweat guards in the armpits). It's a Botany 500. It's a fairly light-green, striped material. It's way, way too small for me, but if you think that brand is a decent one to buy, I might pick it up and put it on eBay.
Has anyone had Botany 500 stuff and think it's a decent brand?
