Suede Smoking Jacket-Humidor pocket

Another beautiful suede in a lovely shade.

This is my fourth Suede beauty from yesteryear. I'm not that familiar with the Conmar zippers on this jacket. Conmars typically copy the Talon look. This Conmar looks like a late 40s Talon. The jacket is also similar to a late 40s Sportclad suede.

Amazing these jackets have survived 70+ years.

I calling this one a smoking jacket. The right hand pocket is a lined humidor pocket with a zipper to keep your leaf dry. I show what I can of it in the video. The Iconic Sears Hercules was advertised with one. The one I own does not have one.

I was going to redo the video, but this video really shows the true colors. With suede you go light and dark depending on your light etc. I tried to show the best representation.

In the video I'm thinking Horsehide, but probably Goathide.

Beautiful jacket, Terry. I love the color of the suede and it looks to be in great condition. I assume the button fasteners are also leather. I’m not familiar with humidor pockets but I’m not sure what else a plastic-lined pocket would be for. Great place to store your cigars! Thanks for sharing.

Would be interesting to see how they advertised these back in the day. I would have thought having a special pocket for your cigars - cigars, mind, not the run of the mill cigarette - would chime with this sort of jacket having been mored of a luxury purchase; definitely not "workwear".
