Up for sale is this ultra-stylish, tough and characterful 30s-style horsehide leather jacket from the famous Aero Leather Clothing of Scotland.

Following is description from Aero:

Continuing the theme of work and leisure wear from the Great Depression years, our Maxwell is based on our 1930s half belt pattern, giving it the correct slim, neat fit of that era just around the time when separating zippers were the latest fashion in leather jackets. Sticking with tradition, we've opted for button fastening using hand sewn Corozo buttons , button fastening cuffs and a classic half belt back, which was still a fairly new design in 1930.

The halfbelt back design gained rapid popularity with the US public due to the flattering profile and the practicality of a side fastening which could be drawn in to retain warmth in all conditions. Our jacket replicates the character of many utility jackets from the late 1920s rather than replicating any one particular model. The Maxwell has two handwarmer pockets below a jetted breast pocket.

This model has, additionally, two useful inner pockets without button or stud fastening so as to prevent them showing through in front of leather. Lined in toasty Peruvian black Alpaca wool – perfect for winter wear. Looks great just with shirt or layer with a sweater and scarf. Note also the contrast stitching, which accentuates the line of the jacket.

Measurements are:
  • Pit-to-pit: 22”-23”
  • Shoulder-to-shoulder: 18”
  • Back: 27”
  • Arm length: 26”
This should fit well anyone from around 5'11" to 6'2", with a fairly trim build. I am just over 6' and the jacket fits me very well. Owned for around two years, with superb patina now developing.

Good pics also on Thurston Bros site.

Free insured postage within UK; international postage to be decided depending upon where.

Neat one there. That contrasting stitching is really appealing wiht the lines of this jacket. Wish it would fit...
