I just bought this hat and it is GREAT hat but my wife and daughter both say it's not for me, so back on the block it goes. Here is the original listing:
<p>Good looking Vintage Fedora, generous 7 3/8, Chocolate Brown felt in fine condition with a great sewn in grosgrain edge 11/16 UNDER the brim; very sharp treatment, allows the steeply raked back edge to show the edging quite well, and accentuates the snap brim; 1 7/16 grosgrain ribbon is a russet color, fine contrast to the felt, edging is same color. not a stitch out of place anywhere.
Sweatband is soft enough, a little separation going on between body & sweat-not an issue, original silk tie in back of sweat still intact; Liner is all there, very minimal touch of coloration, have to look closely to find it.
Overall-I'd rate the hat a 9 - on a 10 scale; only points off are for the sweat not being welded tight, and one moth bite underneath the brim, can't be seen until you take hat off-and since it's a dark hat, relatively,it's not of large consequence. No odors, weak spots, surprises of any kind. Terrific hat, I like it a lot, only reason for selling is needing money for new camera (to take photos of hats with...). I would like to sell it for what I paid for it, but I will entertain offers -- as well as trade offers, including trades with $ going one way or the other.
