Current owner of Real McCoy's, Denime and Nylon brands. He bought Denime and RM when they went under. The jacket looks more like a well worn RM repro than an original though.

Aye, I'm not entirely convinced it's the original. It has that artificial aging vibe to it.

By artificial, I take it you mean the way RM clothings are designed to age/fade quickly. I have seen more than quite a few RM Buco J-24 that looks like this after some wear then they basically frame them. It is like those Japanese jeans fading contest. They put them away after they fade to a certain point.

I have yet to see an original where the leather wears in such an intentional looking way, or where the leather wears before the lining at the collar, or the label, or other areas prone to damage when something's actually worn, not soaked and rubbed.

hmm, reminds me of guitar forums where debates rage about whether such and such is a real '59 or a really good example of something purported to be one....

In this instance, please accept that I know nothing about Bucos or this particular jacket, just an observation.

I too have no idea. I trust Dinerman. If he says its vintagized, thats good enough for me. I don't think RMC, the company, sold it that way -- I have never seen RMC sell pre-distressed leather. On the other hand, someone may have vintagized a new jacket to create that look. Either way, it looks purdy darn good.

I'm not sure if the leather used on perfectos was ever that substantial, you can see the arms have this way of holding themselves even without a person wearing it - think it's a RMC repro.

I would be happy if my leather jacket looked like this, real wear or distressed I like the look on a black jacket.
