Straw hat with a Safari jacket?

I just bought a jacket that is kind of a cross between a sport coat and a safari jacket:

(note - not nearly as wrinkly as the picture shows)

What would you think about wearing this with a short-brimmed straw hat?

I bought the jacket for travel purposes and want a nicer-looking straw hat to wear with a real sport coat. But I'll be wearing this jacket on the plane, etc. and will be transporting the hat on my head.

I still dig on that ascot Hemingway, you wear it well. All that is needed to complete the look is a pipe.

I think a straw works perfectly with that style jacket, dnjan. In fact, I think it is very appropriate.

Thanks, all. I went to Bernie Utz (Seattle) and bought sa Stetson narrow brim today. Actually, the saleperson said that it was palm fiber, and that it would be more durable in our climate (rain, etc.).

I will start a separate thread with a question I have about the hat itself.
