Ok It is raining here on the East Coast and I am caught up in homework....
A strange place to find an original A-2 story
I was a Crew Chief on C-5s years ago. I had a crew of about 8 airmen. One day sitting around the plane telling war stories (LOL). I start telling the crew about my flight jacket interest and describe the A-2. One kid says I have a jacket just like that in my dorm( yeah sure you do kid), belonged to his grandfather. So during lunch we go over to his unlocked dorm room, open up an unlocked locker and there is a Bronco A-2 in size 44.....His grandfather served in Alaska during the war..lucky man...
Another good story, a major here at Dover also collected AF gear. He was at a local auction saw a sleeve under a stack of boxes being strashed by the auctioneer, yup sure enough it was an original A-2. He got that one free and won another at the auction the same day....lucky SOB...
