Hi guys- to clarify why I like my roadster so much: it fits me better than any other hat I own. When I bought it the hat sat too high on my head and didn’t fit (too large). The good folks at JJ Hat Center steamed in a teardrop which made it sit lower on my head and did the trick. I find the felt to be quite soft and pliable and only marginally stiffer than my Royal De Luxe Temple. I agree with dkstott that the ribbon looks better. The faux leather band is the biggest drawback to the hat.

I agree with you. There's something special in the felt in the Roadster. Softer and more pliable than several of the other models with Royal Deluxe felt. The Roadster just feels perfect on my head.

Plus, I like the 3 point "chicken feet" crease.

Just picked up another Stetson Roadster for my collection. Lol

This time it's in Sage green color. I was uncertain about the color, but I really like it. Depending on the light, it varies from green to brown in appearance.

I'm not sure if I'll swap out the leather hat band on this one yet.

I like that color, and I think the band goes with it very well. Your Roadsters look great on you. I think you've found your hat.

The front brim on my Roadster was getting pretty finicky. Flange was good & it looked good snapped up.

But when I snapped it down, it'd dip and then go almost straight out. Ignoring conventional wisdom of preserving the curve or snapping it up when not wearing it.

I decided to steam it with my teakettle into how I want it shaped while wearing it. I rarely wear it snapped up anyways.

It came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

I picked up a Roadster during a Black Friday sale from Fashionable Hats. I have absolutely no complaints.
It has a nice casual look and the felt is soft enough for me. I dig the slight western look that it has. I did steam in a bubble to allow the hat to sit lower. I was bottoming out in the crown. Slightly more brim would be nice for sun protection but all in all I'm pleased. I have an Akubra Angler coming in which will give me that extra brim. Plan to use that for outdoor work, hiking, camping etc... Little scared of the curve up on the side of the brim. I don't want to look like a wannabe cowboy. Angler had the dimensions and features I was looking for in a new hat.
