If the wife likes it, it's a keeper!

I went through my western phase many years ago. When the right one comes along, I'll jump on it, so thanks for keeping me in mind...and a 7XCB is still on the Get List!!!

For now, my big Stetson Beaver 100, Resistol 5X, Shuddie Bros, cattleman crease OR, and Beaver Brand OR clone will have to be my Western fleet :) and, of course, my bowlers! And my recent No. 1 quality!

All excellent! Like Alan, you seem to look great in any style of hat. I did just add a Resistol Beaver One Hundred in the classifieds that would make a nice addition. :)

That dark tan-colored one in the middle is a beauty. You wear Westerns well.

I picked this No. 1 a few weeks ago but it has been on the lounge before. Very nice thin pliable felt. Was sold to me as a 1920’s and does have the old taped rear sweat seam, but the lot # could make 30s?

Thank you Alan, it’s that last attached photo. I make it out to be 6873 but it’s hard to read.

I bought this No. 1 Quality almost certain that it was going to be too small. The price was right and the felt is in great shape.

This skinny ribbon hat is in beautiful condition, except for the sweatband. The leather has dry rot and the stitching all popped when I turned it down. It has a 5 1/2” open crown and the brim is 3 1/2”. After removing the sweatband, I was surprised at how easy it slipped over my size 7 1/2 block. I lost about 1/8” of brim. I plan on having it re-made into a hat by a real hatter; I just wanted to know how much brim I’ll have left. Sticking with the 5 1/2” crown, I think I can get about 3 1/4” of brim once it’s sized all the way up for fit me.

Still not dry, but it gives me an idea of what it’s going to look like.
