Now if they could only make their Campaign hats cheaper

made their wide brim, vented scout hats so fine? The hats on
that site don't look like the thing of memories.

Their hats are plenty cheap. It would be good if they
were of high quality and inexpensive.
Until Stetson recaptures the quality, they are just a name,
and one that is losing its value by the year.

Wow, all those hats are sanctioned by the Boy Scouts? I don't suppose they are permitted to wear them with the uniforms, are they? When I was in Boy Scouts in the '70s our troop had the standard flat cloth cap that could be folded and tucked under a belt. I got myself a nice fur felt campaign hat, not the one for scouts, but the nicer one for scout masters. I wore it all the time and took a lot of ribbing. It was my first real hat.

I also had a campaign hat when I was a scout, I don't think it came from any of the approved suppliers. I believe I got it at some sort of surplus store. This was back in the mid-90s. I also had a true vintage BSA bugle I found at a house sale, which was put to good use as I was the troop bugler. The only bugler in the whole council as I remember.
