thunderw21 said:Sure. I just hope they don't sell out before I get a chance to order one.
It does look like a 'real' fedora which surprised me since it is a modern Stetson. I like the color and they have a size that'll fit me.
tonyb said:Ditto on the style and color. Gotta like it. Anything keeping you from pulling the trigger? I'm guessing that Aaron has that model marked down because he's clearing out the last few he has in inventory.
Izzat right, Aaron? Is Stetson still producing that model? No?

http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=13926I bought myself a Stetson Gaylord a while back just to see what they are producing now. Junk to say the least. The sweatband was made of some psuedo-suede stuff. Glued in liner of course and the stitching looked like it was done by a machine that needed adjustment. It literally tore up the binding when it went through it. The ribbon around the crown looked like it was stapled onto the crown by the way the stitches held the ribbon on. The block looked like a five year old had smacked it a few times with a wiffle ball bat and the felt had wrinkles in it!
tonyb said:I, too, took a look at a thread from about a year ago wherein one of our more experienced members had some less-than-glowing things to say about his example of that particular model. I take some comfort in knowing that his standards are quite high, and that there is always the chance he got the one bad one in the barrel.
I have relatively little money into this one, anyway, so what the heck. And I've said more than once that if Stetson et al made hats in styles more to my liking, they'd get some of my dough. So they get some of my dough. Not much, mind you, but some.
