First of all I'd like to than majormoore of BUCKAROO HATTERS for being such a great guy, and so easy to work with.
Here are some pics of the Stetson 7x clear beaver with a new ribbon treatment. First the original, then with the new ribbon. It's not permanant yet, and I don't have the ribbon quite centered. What do you think?

I like it a lot

(I'm a wide ribbon gal myself so what's not to like <G>). Gorgeous lid.

You will need to iron the ribbon some what so that it has the curve you need going around the hat, plus it will take the wrinkles out from shipping.

The ribbon, looks good on the hat, go for it.

I discovered that to "touch up" the ribbon, once it's on the hat, you can simply "dab" water on it with your finger. Once it dries, it will shrink properly to fit the taper of the crown. (I discovered it on my own, then a long established hatter mentioned, in conversation, that he does the same thing.)

RBH, I would consider it an honor to meet Mike. Seems like a great guy. If it were close enough I would drive over to meet him. Art Fawcett is another gentleman I would be honored to meet.

I do like what the ribbon does for the hat. Now comes the hard part, I have to actually sew it on. I just wrapped it tight around the crown, close to where it should be and taped it down to see what it would look like.
