Starting a History Forum

Hi folks.

Just a shout-out to say that I created a history forum for anyone who's interested. I was extremely disappointed at the lack of decent history forums online, and so decided to create my own. It's dedicated to everyday history; not the big events of war and politics and religion, but to the smaller, daily-life aspects of history. Since that's kind of what the Fedora Lounge is about, I thought I'd post about it here.

I've named it the Living History Forum, because to me, that's what it's about. Discussion about the history of daily life during various periods through time. It covers everything from the 1200s up to WWII. Join if you're interested.

Thanks, Widebrim. I'm still fine-tuning a few things, adding in boards etc. I created the kinda browny-yellowy colour-scheme 'cause I wanted a sort of sepia-toned forum. It didn't turn out *quite* as I expected, but it still looks alright. In time, I'll add a header and a background of some sort to the forum, as well. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

Due to my interest in historical studies, this is something I've considered setting up about two years ago. Basically a history forum covering every major period throughout history, from ancient times to the present. I never got far, no one registered, and I forgot the website link, so it's an abandoned project right now.

I damn well hope it's a good idea! Running a forum isn't easy (I know from experience) and I want this one to be a success!! I saw that you joined. Thanks for doing so Hope you contribute something interesting.

You had me at the words "history forum". I went and joined. I do go for the big events but I'm really drawn to the obscure ones.
