That's exactly what they are. Not the most utilitarian specimens, as the straw grips are generally done as a tourist bait (looks more "authentic" than the grooved wood). Would like very nice displayed on the wall behind my potted palm.
I thought they might be tourist stuff, but fairly old, say 60's, as the workmanship is quite good on the binding of the barbs. I've got them on the wall next to my shell ikat hanging, and that looks OK for $25 worth. I'll hang onto them for another 10 years or so and flog em off!
