1950s short oval Sovereign Stetson 20 Mode Edge in light grey. 7 1/8 US (I think). $150 or offers!
I've traced this hat to the mid-late 50s based on the style.
If you want I can send you a modified hat jack with this hat to keep and slightly modify its shape.
Mode Edge
The brim is turned and felted back into the same material by hand. To the best of my knowledge no-one does this now.
Crown is mid height, brim is 2 3/4 inches, with original ribbon, band and lining.
This hat has been worn extensively. There is some slight sag in the ribbon and some wear to the interior leather band. The silk lining is slightly stained.
The material is (I think) XXX beaver fur felt, may be higher X rating. Smooth and soft, this hat doesn't change shape in the rain.
I don't smoke. I do have cats, though. The hat doesn't smell of cats or anything, but if you're allergic it might be an issue.
